Deleting your account

You can close your Yalator account at any time, from the app or from this website. Here is exactly what happens when you do.

How to delete it

Two routes, and both do the same thing:

  • In the iPhone or Android app: Account → Settings → Delete account.
  • On this website: sign in, then go to your account settings.

You will be asked to confirm. Open your account settings to do it now.

It cannot be undone. Signing in again with the same Google or Apple account afterwards opens a new, empty account — it does not reopen the old one.

What is deleted

  • The link between your Google or Apple account and Yalator, so neither can sign you in here again.
  • Your name and email address on the account.
  • Your travel preferences, including anything you told us about diet or accessibility.
  • Everything you saved, every trip you planned, and any agent itinerary you had claimed.
  • Your marketing preferences, and any email sequence you were part of.

What has to stay

Bookings you have already made. A booking is a financial record of a sale between you, us and an operator, and we are required to keep those — for tax, for the operator who has to deliver the experience, and for the years afterwards in which a question about a payment can still be raised.

What a booking keeps is the detail the operator needs to run it: who was travelling, when, and what was paid. What it no longer has is any link back to an account, because the account is gone. Card details were never ours to keep — they are held by Stripe, our payment processor, and we only ever see a reference and the last four digits.

If you cannot sign in

If you have lost access to the Google or Apple account you signed up with, email us and we will do it for you. Write from the address you booked with if you can, and tell us the booking reference from any confirmation email — we have to be sure it is your account before we close it.

We answer these within a few working days. If you would rather read what we hold and why before deciding, that is in the privacy policy.

Still not sure?

If your question is not here, ask us. A person reads every message, and there is no wrong question about a trip you have paid for.
